Hygiene is always a concern when it comes to buying food at places such as the hawker centres, am I not right? I mean, no one wants to consume something unhygienic at the expense of their health.
Knowing that Singapore has many hawker centres, it is only natural to be strict in the hygiene standards for the good of the people. And rest assured, because they have done so as I happened to chance upon an article that has enforced a firmer penalty for food outlets with poor hygiene standards and I felt more assured because with stricter standards, cleanliness would arise.
And how does National Environmental Agency (NEA) critique the cleanliness of such food outlets? They have a grading system which is based on “the overall hygiene, cleanliness and housekeeping standards of the premises” which are the ones you see below, at food outlets.

If you fail in these standards, they have a fair Points Demerit System (PSD) to suspend or revoke the licenses and to know more, click here.
Therefore, it is really important to know just how “clean” the food you’re consuming is because sometimes we often take for granted since we are so accustom to not falling ill after eating at hawker centres. So why not check the labels before deciding whether this food outlet is clean before risking it or just take a peek at their working environment. Then YOU decide.
But what do you think about all these? Pen down your thoughts for me to know!
